By Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples
When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe.
From bestselling writer Brian K. Vaughan, Saga is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the worlds. Fantasy and science fiction are wed like never before in this sexy, subversive drama for adults.
I had so much fun reading this. It’s so creative and weird and I loved it.
It starts with the birth of a baby girl whose parents are on opposing sides of a war, and continues with their struggle to survive and protect her.
The world that has been created in this comic is amazing and the story keeps going in unexpected directions. A ghost babysitter? Sure! A forest of rockets? Why not!
I read this all at once and was sad when I got to the end and didn’t have the next volume to read. I immediately went online and ordered both number 2 and 3, which I am now (im)patiently waiting to arrive.
I like a lot of the more weird comics (Jeff Lemire’s Animal Man, I’m looking at you) but I really think that if you like fantasy and scifi at all, you’re gonna love this.
